The Shuswap Spinners and Weavers Guild is an organization of almost 60 members dedicated to supporting those involved in the fibre arts community locally and promoting these creative skills in the larger community. All members of the larger fibre arts community are welcome - spinners, weavers, fetlers, fibre producers, knitters and those who crochet. Let's Create a page for Guild Member Websites
It occurs to me that the Blog would be a good place to list websites and blogs illustrating the wonderful creations of our members. If you would like to add a link to your work on the web, please email the information and I will create a page for this purpose. (shuspin@gmail.com)
Christmas Pot Luck a Huge Success
The Christmas Potluck hosted by Marcia D. in Enderby was a fabulous event that was well attended by Guild members. Marcia's home was a great location for the gathering and even though it is large and spacious, thirty-five people pretty much filled it to capacity. For those who were not able to attend, the food was excellent, the desserts delicious and wonderfully rich and laughter. Laughter, lady chatter and the buzz of many, many conversations filled the air and lifted the spirit. It was great fun.
Gudie took lots of photos of the event and the Show 'n Tell items - and I will post them here as soon as I receive them from her.
A special note of thanks to those who came prepared to demonstrate simple skills - how to add beads to your knitting (Judith), a simple way to add heddles when you run out (Eileen), how to fold plastic bags to (a tongue in cheek demo from Darlene), an exercise routine for weavers from Wendy and amusing stories from Glenda, Gudrun and Ann. The grand finale was a performance and sing- a long with Rosalie as she accompanied us on her Q-chord! (Please email me if I missed anyone :-( )
It was a lovely evening - our thanks to Marcia for hosting and those who helped her prepare for the event and stayed to clean up.
Thanks for all of the great food. If you would like to share your recipes, send them to me at (Shuspin@gmail.com) and I will post them here for others!
Merry Christmas one and all!

There was much better height for displaying items. The half hour for set
up before items were displayed was well utilized, and much appreciated.
The Art Gallery has been booked for the last Saturday in November next
year.
Noelle to discuss payment
for the broken coat rack with Gallery staff.
All in all, a huge success. Many thanks to Noelle for all her hard
work, and to Gudie for taking care of the advertising.

Shuswap Spinners and Weavers Guild Sale - a GREAT Success!
Shoppers and guild supporters were lined up on Saturday morning waiting for the Shuswap Spinners and Weavers Guild Annual Christmas Sale to begin! Clearly, folks have learned that it pays to be there early to have the widest possible selection of items to choose from. That being said, there was no shortage of wonderful gift items on offer even at the end of the day. Shoppers commented on both the quality and the variety of locally produced crafts available.
As a guild member, I am always in awe of the talent and skill shown by other members and the Christmas Sale is a great place to see just how extensive that talent pool actually is.
We are looking for photos of the event to publish here, so please send them to Gudie or myself and we will make them available!

We agreed to send a letter back, thanking them for the invite, and saying
we would love to come.

Good Morning Everyone!
I am writing to thank everyone for their donations to my Father's benefit auction. The silent auction alone brought in approximately $940! The total amount raised was close to $5000.
I feel blessed to belong to such a wonderful, generous group of women! My dad asked me to express his gratitude to all of you, he was pleasantly surprised by all of the beautiful items donated.
You will all be in my thanksgiving prayers tonight.
With love and gratitude,
Kyla
